Candle safety is all about common sense. If you keep in mind that a candle is an open flame and take the proper precautions, then your candle burning experience will be pleasurable and safe. Here are some important safety tips:
  1. Remove all packaging before lighting.
  2. Never leave a burning candle unattended at any time.
  3. Extinguish candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep.
  4. Burn candles within a 1 foot circle of safety, free of anything that can burn. Be certain that drapes or curtains cannot be blown into the candle flame.
  5. Keep burning candles out of reach of children or pets.
  6. Do not move a candle while it is burning or if the wax is still hot and contains liquid.
  7. Always use a suitable candle holder and place it on a heat-resistant surface.
  8. Place candles at least three inches apart so they don't melt one another.
  9. Always trim your wick to a length of 5mm before relighting. This will reduce excessive flame and smoking.
  10. It is suggested that after 2 - 3 hours of burning that the candle is extinguished, allowed to cool, trim the wick and relight.
Candles are a safe product when used properly. Burn them responsibly, and your candles will bring you hours of serenity and pleasure.
